Elizabeth A. McConnell 1942-2019

Elizabeth was born Oct. 8, 1942, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Paolone Shiley.

She had worked for St. Elizabeth as a registered nurse and retired after 15 years.

Elizabeth was a member of Pleasant Valley Church and was a big part of the Girard Band Boosters for many years. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Elizabeth leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 44 years, George W. McConnell, whom she married May 10, 1975; her children, Brian (Irish) McConnell of Girard and Chad McConnell of Hubbard; sister, Norma Simmons of Girard; brother, Andrew Shiley of Westchester; and a granddaughter, Isabella.

Funeral services will be held at10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at Blackstone Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests any memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, Tenn., 38105 in Elizabeth’s memory.
