Staff report YOUNGSTOWN — A man reported that his ex-girlfriend and four men with guns robbed him of cash Tuesday morning at Oak Hill Avenue and Cleveland Street on the South Side while he was in his car. The victim said he was in his car when the woman pulled up to him in a red Jeep Commander with four unknown males with guns. The incident happened at 10:45 a.m. They took $60 in cash, his wallet and bank cards and left the area, the report states. Officers searched the area but did not locate the Jeep. YOUNGSTOWN — After a number of votes and some confusion, city council decided to deny the law director a 14% raise that would have put his salary at the same amount as the finance director. When it all shook out at Wednesday’s meeting, council voted 4-3 against giving Law Director Adam Buente the pay increase. BOARDMAN — Township leaders have confirmed that fire Chief Mark Pitzer will be leaving his post next month to accept a position in Canfield. He was hired Tuesday as deputy chief following an executive session of the Cardinal Joint Fire District board. He will be paid $92,000 per year. WASHINGTON (AP) — Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced Wednesday that he is rolling out a new screening program for “testosterone deficiency” among troops, calling it necessary to allow them to operate at their “absolute best.” The new screenings will be conducted annually as part of service members’ required medical screenings for those 30 and older, he said.
