died from self-inflicted gunshot wound
TWIN FALLS, Idaho -- The suspect in a fatal shooting at a fast-food restaurant in Idaho died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams.

Israel has serious concerns with
Hamas over disarmament deal
TEL AVIV, Israel -- Israel has shared serious security concerns with the White House about a proposed disarmament deal with Hamas.
An Israeli official told The Associated Press on Sunday that Israel believes Hamas is focused on rebuilding its military rather than demilitarizing.
The Israeli military will not withdraw from Gaza until Hamas disarms. This comes days after Hamas announced plans to disarm as part of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
The agreement includes a phased Israeli withdrawal and the arrival of international forces. Despite the ceasefire, Israel continues to strike Gaza, targeting Hamas and its infrastructure. Israeli strikes overnight and into Sunday evening killed at least 17 people, including children, in the embattled enclave.

US Senate leaders reach funding deal
to avoid shutdown during campaigns
WASHINGTON -- Key senators have unveiled a short-term spending bill to avoid a government shutdown during the middle of campaign season.
The bill unveiled Sunday would keep federal agencies funded past the midterm elections, through Dec. 11. The Senate is likely to vote on the measure before leaving Washington at the end of the week for its traditional August recess. Many lawmakers want to spend the coming weeks shoring up their reelection prospects rather than working in the nation's capital. By extending government funding now, lawmakers can use the ensuing months to work out their differences on funding for the full year.
2 killed when helicopters collide
ATHENS, Greece -- Greece's fire department says the collision of two firefighting helicopters battling a major wildfire burning out of control west of Athens left two crew members dead, while another two were recovered alive. The fire department said on Sunday the dead crew members were one Greek and one Danish national, while the two who were recovered alive were one Greek and one British national.
Foreign firefighting and helicopter crews are often deployed in Greece to help tackle wildfires during the country's hot, dry summers. The collision laid bare the danger at the most volatile front of Europe's wildfire emergency.
