Warrant issued for Girard man accused of threatening partner

LIBERTY — A temporary warrant was issued Monday for a Girard man accused of threatening to kill his significant other and two juvenile children. John Newman, 56, faces a charge of domestic violence in Girard Municipal Court. According to a police report, officers were called to a Churchill Road residence in reference to a domestic altercation, and dispatchers said the caller alleged her significant other was threatening her and was highly intoxicated.
