BOARDMAN -- The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is offering a reward for information that would lead to the capture of fugitive Stacey Mahone.
Mahone is wanted by the Boardman Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service on charges of strangulation, domestic violence and child endangering.
Mahone, 24, is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. He has been known to frequent the Youngstown and Cleveland areas.
Anyone with information regarding Mahone is asked to contact the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at 1-866-4WANTED or they can send a web tip at www.usmarshals.gov/what-we-do/fugitive-investigations/submitting-a-tip. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
In mid-August, Mahone led police on a chase through Applewood Acres. The police report about that incident states that the Boardman resident fled from his sister's vehicle and left residents in the neighborhood locking their doors as police pursued him with a dog.
His sister, Lee'Aysia L. Mahone, 26, also of Boardman, was booked on felony charges of failure to comply and obstruction, and one first-degree misdemeanor count of endangering children.
That day, two officers saw Stacey Mahone walking out of Y-Smoke on Mathews Road and recognized him as the same person wanted by police. He got into his sister's car and police tried to stop them before they left the plaza parking lot.
Lee'Aysia drove west down Mathews and police activated their lights and siren immediately. The report states she did not stop and reached 56 mph.
Near 455 Mathews Road -- Lee'Aysia's address, according to court records -- the car stopped in the road, the driver's-side rear door opened and Stacey Mahone got out and ran through a parking lot. One officer pursued him on foot while the other drove after Lee'Aysia. She was found a few minutes later in the driveway at 463 Mathews.
The report states that when police confronted her, she said that when she realized they were pulling her over, Stacey told her to let him out of the car. The report states she told police she knew Stacey had outstanding Boardman warrants but he told her the warrants were "all taken care of."
Meanwhile, police pursued Stacey Mahone in Applewood Acres for about 45 minutes but lost the track near Forest Ridge Drive.
Stacey Mahone is wanted for felony domestic violence charges from January and February, according to Mahoning County court records. He also pleaded guilty to domestic violence threats in 2023.
