WHAT: Trustees meeting Tuesday
PRESENT: Dave Tomaino, Wendy DiBernardi, Bryce Bond and fiscal officer Lisa Balsinger
Trustees:
•Approved the retirement recognition of police officer Michael Saltzman.
•Approved warrants and payments from the fiscal officer's financial report.
•Approved annual self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) testing for the fire department at $1,247.
•Approved yearly pump testing of all fire trucks by Countryside Truck Service at $1,475.
•Approved the preliminary hiring of Shawny Hamilton for the fire department.
•Approved a computer upgrade package for the police cruisers.
•Approved the resignation of police officer Emily Burnham.
•Approved provisional hiring of Alexander Peters to the police department.
•Approved the removal of fallen trees at Oak Avenue, Scott Cliff Drive and Alexander Street at $8,500.
•Were informed by Balsinger that Milton Township was denied the cemetery grant from the Ohio Department of Commerce.
•Approved a motion to pursue forming a joint fire district between Milton Township, Jackson Township and possibly Craig Beach Village, and retaining attorney Chip Comstock to provide legal representation for the talks at a cost of $5,000, which will be split between the participating parties. Comstock is the chief of the Western Reserve Joint Fire District in Poland.
