WHAT: Board of Education meeting Aug. 24

PRESENT: Adam Earnhardt, Janine Hamilton, Hans Kirr, David Malone and John Simon

The board:

• Authorized a $500 stipend for engineering instructor and robotics coach Jacob Mellinger for preparing students for and taking them to the Trumbull County Educational Service Center drone racing competition, funded via a TCESC subgrant.

• Declared a specified list of books and two food warmers obsolete and authorized Superintendent Brian Knight to dispose of them.

• Approved an agreement between the district and the TCESC to provide special education programs, supervisory and related services and personnel for the 2027 fiscal year for $1,304,000.

• Accepted Nicole Ulrich's resignation as a registered nurse, effective Aug. 13, 2026.

• Granted a one-year limited contract to Teresa Long as an intervention specialist, effective July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

• Authorized the employment of Natalie Plant as an auxiliary services intervention specialist assigned to Victory Christian School for the 2026-27 school year.

• Accepted Carolyn Mohler's resignation as a cook, for retirement purposes.

• Accepted Vickey Coggins's resignation as a cook, for retirement purposes.

• Accepted the resignation of Breanna McCain as a JV Assistant Cheerleading Coach, effective Aug. 10, 2026.

• Accepted a donation of one Dovaman portable band saw, valued at $170 from The Liberty Athletic & Academic Boosters to the Liberty Robotics Club.

• Accepted a donation of $1,182 from Donors Choose for sports and exercise equipment for the Liberty High School Cheerleading team.
