YOUNGSTOWN -- Police are still investigating a man's death after he was found under a truck Tuesday afternoon.
A Youngstown police report states that officers responded to 890 Midlothian Blvd., near Zedaker Street, about 3 p.m. The businesses listed at that address are Youngstown Comfort Systems, Famous Supply of Youngstown and Precious Metals.
When they arrived, they found a man face down on the ground, with the lower half of his body under a tan pickup truck, which was parked next to the building.
The report states that an officer rolled him over with the intention of providing first aid, but immediately observed that he was cold to the touch and his skin had turned blue. The man also had no pulse. Emergency medical staff declared him dead at 3:17 p.m.
It is unclear who called police, but the report states that they spoke to the man's daughter after securing the scene.
The woman told them that someone else had notified her that her father had died. The report does not say how she came to find him at the Midlothian Boulevard address. She told police he had a history of drug abuse and had recently suffered a stroke.
The report states that the truck was damaged, with a peeled steering column, and it had no license plate.
Peeled steering columns are a common indicator that someone attempted to steal the vehicle. The report does not state that the man is suspected of attempted theft or any other crime.
