Enbridge Inc., a North American natural gas supplier, announced Monday that Greg Ebel will retire as president and chief executive officer effective Dec. 31 and that Michele Harradence has been appointed to succeed him Jan. 1.
Harradence is Enbridge's executive vice president and president, gas distribution and storage. Ebel will remain a member of the board through his retirement date and serve as an adviser to the board and Harradence from January until May.
"Michele's appointment is well-deserved, and it is especially gratifying to see a friend of the Mahoning Valley rise to this position," said Guy Coviello, president and CEO of the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber. "We also appreciate Enbridge's commitment of more than $1 million to help support businesses, community organizations and residents in downtown Youngstown."
Harradence was keynote speaker at the chamber's 2025 Salute to Business breakfast and spoke about the role reliable, affordable energy plays in economic growth and attracting investment.
"We congratulate Michele and know she will bring tremendous leadership to her new role as president and CEO. Having someone with her expertise who knows the Valley and understands the role energy plays in economic development is an asset to our region," Coviello said.
The CEO transition comes as Enbridge continues to deliver on its strategy of expanding its North American energy infrastructure platform, including its liquids pipelines, gas transmission and storage, natural gas utility and renewable power businesses.
Harradence has led Enbridge's gas utilities since 2022, including guiding the integration of U.S. utility businesses that have helped make Enbridge one of North America's largest integrated gas utility platforms, serving 7.2 million homes, schools, hospitals and businesses in Canada and the United States.
Prior to her appointment to the utility, she was senior vice president and chief operations officer in Enbridge's Gas Transmission and Midstream business in Houston. She joined Enbridge in 2014 having served previously in senior leadership roles with Shell Canada.
