Canfield -- Reithoffer Shows will debut three new amusement rides, including one manufactured in Ohio, at the 2026 Canfield Fair.
The new attractions include two kiddie rides and a thrill ride for teens and adults, adding to the nearly 50 rides that will comprise the fair's midway.
The new kiddie rides include Jumbo, the Flying Elephant, a colorful family attraction featuring 10 elephant-themed cars that rise and spin. Riders can control the up-and-down movement of their elephant until the ride operator brings the attraction to a stop. Each car accommodates up to two riders, and adults are welcome to ride with children.
Jumbo was manufactured by Kolmax, a Czech Republic-based company recognized as one of the newer manufacturers of mobile amusement rides. The ride features distinctive, brightly colored elephant designs.
Also making its debut is Honey Bee, another new attraction from Kolmax. The ride features spinning cups that rotate around a central turntable and can accommodate up to 18 riders. Designed with younger children in mind, Honey Bee also allows adults to ride alongside their children.
For thrill-seekers, Reithoffer Shows will introduce Mega Drop, a 120-foot drop tower manufactured by ARM Manufacturing of Wintersville. Mega Drop is the tallest drop tower ARM has ever produced. The ride carries 12 passengers, who are lifted to the top of the tower before experiencing a rapid drop back toward the ground.
Ryan Reithoffer, general manager of Reithoffer Shows, said the company is particularly excited about the three new attractions.
"I'm impressed with the quality and special designs of each ride. Our customers are going to love them," he said.
In total, Reithoffer Shows will provide approximately 50 rides at the Canfield Fair, including two Ferris wheels and four roller coasters.
This year marks Reithoffer Shows' 130th year in business, making it the oldest continuously operating carnival supplier in the United States. The company provides amusement rides, games and food concessions for approximately 50 fairs and festivals across 16 states. Reithoffer Shows is also a member of the Circle of Excellence of the Outdoor Amusement Business Association.
According to Reithoffer, fairgoers can save money on ride tickets by purchasing an advance-discount wristband, which provides unlimited rides for one day of the fair. Wristbands are available online through the Canfield Fair website, and customers are encouraged to purchase them early. The advance-sale deadline is 8 p.m. Sept. 1.
The 2026 Canfield Fair will take place Sept. 2 to 7 at the Canfield Fairgrounds. The fair is expected to attract more than 250,000 visitors, making it the second-largest fair in Ohio and one of the top five county fairs in the United States.
