YOUNGSTOWN -- A man suffered apparent serious injuries when he was shot twice and was found walking west on Oakwood Avenue on Wednesday night. A 911 call about the shooting came in at 8:16 p.m.

A Youngstown police report states that when officers spotted the victim while responding to a gas station in the 1800 block of Mahoning Avenue for a shooting, one of the officers transported the man to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for treatment.

The report states that when an officer spotted the victim, he had "two apparent gunshot wounds on his body."

The report suggests that the shooting took place at the gas station and that the victim walked about a block or so to the spot where the officer saw and helped him. The report does not indicate how serious the man's injuries were, but the type of offense listed on the report is felonious assault "victim seriously harmed."

The officer had gone to the gas station first and then dispatch notified the officer that the victim was now at Oakwood and Fernwood avenues not far from the gas station.
