National Night Out is marked on the first Tuesday in August.
The event enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides an opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances, according to the National Night Out website.
Local communities hosting events, which include seeing police, fire and emergency medical service vehicles, music, games and food are:
•Liberty -- 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Churchill Park off Belmont Avenue in conjunction with the rescheduled America250 celebration with fireworks closing out the event.
•Weathersfield -- 6 to 8 p.m. at community park, 3784 S. Main St.
•Youngstown -- 5 to 8 p.m. at Northside Pool, 2160 Belmont Ave.
