WHAT: Trumbull Career & Technical Center board meeting June 25

The board:

• Heard from Superintendent Jason Gray that the new industrial technology, career exploration and resource center area addition to the southeastern corner of the school is nearing completion. He said plans are for the board members to take a tour of the addition Aug. 13, with a ribbon cutting planned for September.

• Received a $12,244 donation from the Cortland Masonic Lodge for the student assistance fund.

• Approved students in the equine program to attend the Future Farmers of America regional competition in West Springfield, Massachusetts in September.

Lordstown

WHAT: Board of education meeting Wednesday

PRESENT: Cheryl Kistler, Niki Reid, William Catlin, Rebekah Conn and Michelle Wells

The board:

• Approved the purchase of tools and equipment from the Trumbull County Educational Service Center for a woodworking program and pre-apprenticeship certificate training to be offered in the school district. The TCESC governing board previously approved discontinuing the program, which was held at Lordstown schools. Officials said they plan to offer classes to Lordstown students.

• Approved an agreement with Cadence Care Network for providing behavioral health support for students in the district.

• Approved Bill Ifft as a high school tutor not to exceed 30 hours per week.
