WHAT: Board of Education meeting Tuesday

PRESENT: Walter Baber, Kristin Fox, Joseph Fuline and Robert Noble

ABSENT: Ronald Shives

The board:

•Met in special session prior to the regular meeting at the Struthers Manor Avenue building to assess the school facility. The former school closed as a traditional elementary school in 2002. Superintendent Pete Pirone said the board and district officials looked at and discussed the outside steps that lead to the basement, the parking lot and the catch basin in the parking lot.

•Approved the financial reports and investments for the month of June.

•Approved the proposal from the Tri County Tower for tower painting in the amount of $22,400.

•Approved a contract for Type IV parental transportation for students for whom it is impractical to bus. Parents will be paid $636 per student.

•Approved the agreement with Access to Backup Services for the district.

•Approved the cafeteria prices for the 2026-27 school year. There are no changes from last year.

•Approved the resignation of Alyse Rosa from the position of personal attendant/paraprofessional at the elementary school.

•Approved the resignation of Tiffany Green from the position of assistant volleyball coach.

•Rescinded the appointment of Shanna Daniels from the supplemental position of freshmen volleyball assistant coach.

•Approved the renewal of supplemental positions.

* Approved an $8,000 stipend for the Director of Federal Programs, Larry Sammartino.

•Approved the request from Dave Vecchione, Middle School principal, to take 8th graders to Washington, D.C. May 17 to 19, 2027.

•Approved a preliminary request from Larry Sammartino, elementary school principal, for the annual 4th grade Camp Fitch trip April 21 to 23, 2027.
