Jackson-Milton maintenance worker dies

JACKSON TOWNSHIP — A worker with the Jackson-Milton school Local Schools was killed after being struck by a tree branch Wednesday.

A post to the Jackson-Milton Local Schools Facebook page states that Dave Cameron, the district’s maintenance supervisor, died from his injuries suffered at work.

“Mr. Cameron served our district with pride. His loss is felt deeply, but his memory will never be far from our hearts,” the post states. “We need only to look around the facilities he took impeccable care of to realize his impact on our district. We mourn his loss as we express profound gratitude for his contribution to our district.”

Milton Township Police Chief Charles VanDyke confirmed the accident happened on Wednesday, and Cameron was found bleeding from the back of his head. CPR was performed on him, and he was transported to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

A preliminary investigation was conducted to ensure there was no foul play.
