WHAT: Board of education meeting May 18

PRESENT: Victoria Davis, John Landers, R. Scot Murray, Candace Rivera and Thomas Varley

The board:

● Approved the financial report for April as submitted by the treasurer.

● Approved a donation of $1,162.50 from Boardman Lacrosse Boosters to the Booster Fund.

● Approved more than 100 classified and nonclassified staff for various positions within the district for the 2026-27 school year.

● Approved the following transfers: Ryan Barrett from a sixth grade science/social studies teacher at Boardman Center Intermediate School to a seventh grade science teacher at Boardman Glenwood Junior High School; Jessica O’Halloran from an intervention specialist at West Boulevard Elementary School to a guidance counselor at Boardman Center Intermediate School; Gia DiMaiolo from a cafeteria server at Stadium Drive Elementary School to a cafeteria server at Boardman Glenwood Junior High School; and Curtis Wagner from a cafeteria server at Boardman High School to a cafeteria server at West Boulevard Elementary School.

● Accepted the following resignations: Marco Marinucci, Boardman High School assistant principal; Ian Head, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School seventh grade science teacher; Lisa Hughes, literary coach; David Pavlansky, Boardman High School English teacher; Sara Pokrivnak, Boardman Center Intermediate School cafeteria server; Janice Stafford, Stadium Drive Elementary School teacher aide; Penny Suman, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School cleaning staff; Scott Lenhart, Boardman High School head boys lacrosse coach; Kelsie Mosora, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School girls head basketball coach; and Kamryn Duritza, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School eighth grade volleyball coach.

● Approved more than 200 contract nonrenewals for a variety of positions throughout the district. Some of the personnel held more than one position.

● Approved the nonrenewal of dozens of coaching contracts.

● Approved the nonrenewal of more than a dozen volunteer coaching positions.

● Approved the following stipends: Kelley Cervello, Robinwood Lane Elementary School Title I coordinator, $600; Colleen Kather, West Boulevard School Title I coordinator, $700; Erika Knapp, Stadium Drive Elementary School Title I coordinator, $700; Renee LaBelle, Boardman Center Intermediate School Title I coordinator, $300; and Kristin Conroy, Title I newsletter editor, $400.
