The ATHENA Award Dinner, hosted by the Youngstown / Warren Regional Chamber and The Vindicator, celebrates women who demonstrate exceptional professional achievement, community service and dedication to mentoring future women leaders.

Now in its 33rd year, the program is one of the region’s most respected recognitions of leadership and impact.

Held May 14 at Waypoint 4180, the 2026 event honored 31 outstanding nominees from across the Mahoning Valley representing business, health care, education, nonprofit and community organizations.

This year’s ATHENA Award recipient was Gina Govojdean, vice president of sales and supply at Howmet Aerospace.

Govojdean was honored for her leadership, professional excellence and commitment to strengthening both her industry and the community.
