Goodwill to open store in Campbell
CAMPBELL — The Campbell City School District has announced a partnership and lease agreement with Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries that will bring a new Goodwill location to the Campbell Health and Community Development Center, set to open Aug. 1 on Struthers Coitsville Road.
The center, made possible through secured grant funding and a network of school-based health, workforce development and community partnerships, is designed to provide resources to families across Mahoning County. The Goodwill location will include an outdoor donation center and an indoor retail store.
Students at Campbell Memorial High School and the Northeast Ohio Impact Academy will assist with store operations and gain hands-on experience in sales, retail management, marketing and advertising — aligning with the district’s focus on workforce development and career readiness.
Goodwill’s mission extends beyond retail. The organization provides job training, employment placement and support programs for individuals facing barriers to employment, with a focus on helping people achieve economic independence.
Additional partners are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Superintendent Matthew Bowen called Campbell “an incredible community that continues to grow through strategic investment and strong partnerships.”
“This partnership with Goodwill is another example of how we are expanding opportunities and building a stronger future for our students and community,” Bowen said.
Shelley Murray, CEO of Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries, said the partnership allows the organization to extend its mission in a new way.
“Together, we are helping build a stronger future for the Campbell community and the entire region,” Murray said.
