WHAT: Village council meeting Monday
PRESENT: Robert Bond, Mark McGrail, Lamar Liming, Jamie Moseley, Jessica Blank, Ron Radtka and Mayor Jackie Woodward
Council:
• Heard from Engineer Chris Koglenik the village will be advertising for bids for the Lyntz Road resurfacing project, which is an Ohio Public Works Commission funded project.
• Heard from Kogelnik about the village seeking “Safe Streets for All” funding from the Ohio Department of Transportation. He said grants will help with street and sidewalk improvements along Salt Springs Road, state Route 45 and Ellsworth Bailey Road.
• Heard from street supervisor Martin Nelder that the village has been addressing recent flooding problems throughout the community following heavy rainfalls.
• Approved sale of extra, old police body armor to Red Diamond Uniform and Police Supply.
• Approved hiring up to eight seasonal part-time employees for the streets, parks and building departments. Officials said they will likely hire six.
• Approved an agreement with Alexander Pest Control for four mosquito sprayings at $3,045 from June to September.
• Approved having Verdantas review the state Route 45 shoulder project for $6,470 and the site plan review for Foxconn future development at $31,650.
• Were informed by Shane Brown, vice president of EV manufacturing at Foxconn, of plans for building a new substation and wastewater facility at the rear of the Foxconn property.
• Heard from United Auto Workers Local 1112 that its members made a frozen food donation to the village with the police department giving the food to local families for Easter.
• Announced the Trumbull Mobile Market will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the parking lot by the administration building.
