Girard to vote on safety service director

GIRARD — With Mark Ragozine named as Boardman Township’s new administrator last week, city council will decide at 7 p.m. today on a new safety service director to replace him.

Girard Mayor Mark Zuppo has named resident Glenn Holmes to be the new safety service director and will ask council for its support. If approved, Holmes will begin serving April 20.

Holmes has previously served as the mayor of McDonald and was a former state representative to the 63rd district of the Ohio House of Representatives. Holmes was also appointed in 2019 to the Ohio Parole Board.

Starting at $3.23/week.
