YOUNGSTOWN — The man reported missing April 5 from his home on Winona Drive on the South Side was found dead in nearby Mill Creek Park, the Youngstown Police Department has announced.

A weekend news release does not state what day the body was found.

Brian Carney, 64, was found, and no foul play is suspected, according to police.

The case has been referred to the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office for further determination of the cause.

“The Youngstown Police Department extends its sincere condolences to the family and loved ones of Mr. Carney,” the release states.

On April 6, the police department asked for the public’s help in finding Carney, who left his home about 6 p.m. April 5. The news release stated that Carney had Alzheimer’s disease.

Media reports state that Carney’s body was found near East Glacier Drive.

Police reportedly searched the area near Carney’s home with a drone April 6.
