What: Board of Education meeting Monday

The board:
• Recognized the following athletic teams for their achievements: Girls varsity bowling, AAC Championship and 8th consecutive title; Boys varsity bowling, AAC Championship and state qualifier; Boys indoor track, placed 4th in relay at state championship; Boys swim team for its 14-0 season, AAC Championship and five qualifiers for state; and Girls swim team, AAC Championship and five qualifiers for state.
• Approved service agreements between ACCESS and Boardman schools for Financial Information System (FIS), including budgetary and payroll services; Educational Management Information System (EMIS); Student Information System (SIS) to include student grade reporting, teacher gradebook, attendance and scheduling; INFOhio automated library services (in-house) and all INFOhio web-based services.
• Approved a service agreement with the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio for substitutes.
• Approved the following hirings: Michael Addison, one-year limited contract as a bus driver, $4,864.69; Daniel Everson, one-year limited contract as a cleaning I at Boardman Glenwood Junior High School, $9,153.57; James Gibson Jr., one-year limited contract as a cleaning I at West Boulevard Elementary, $8,461.99; Ashley Gobel, one-year limited contract as a teacher aide-intensive needs at Boardman Center Intermediate School, $8,091.59. She also will receive a supplement of $6,000 as an intensive needs aide for Cross-Categorical Rooms and Behavior Support Rooms; Charlotte “Lynn” Hack, one-year limited contract as a bus aide, $2,884.62; Jaret Hahn, one-year limited contract as bus mechanic, $12,215.16; and Taras Hlodan, one-year limited contract as cleaning I at Boardman High School, $8,707.19.
• Approved $75 stipends for the use of novels in the classroom for Kathryn Basista, Haley Blangero, Amber Collins, Mikel Flatley, Cara Henley and Jenna Menough.
• Approved the following resignations: Debra Seifert, Boardman Center Intermediate School 4th-grade language arts teacher, retirement; Beth DeVore, Boardman High School teacher aide, retirement; Dave Pavlansky, Boardman High School English teacher, retirement; Jean Sands, Robinwood Lane Elementary School teacher aide, retirement; Renee Conti, Robinwood Lane Elementary School teacher aide; Brian Meenachan, West Boulevard Elementary School teacher aide; and Anna Petrino-Kuzma, Boardman Center Intermediate School teacher aide.
• Accepted the following donations: $2,300 from St. James Episcopal Church for food/clothing pantries; 14 hoodies valued at $765.93 from Agent Insurance Services to the quiz bowl team; $200 from Cocca’s Pizza to the Italian National Honors Society; and $160 from Mahoning Valley Society of Professional Engineers to the Boardman Glenwood Junior High School Math Counts.

WHAT: Board of Developmental Disabilities meeting Monday
PRESENT: Melissa Baker, Tim Calderone, Mauro DiVieste, Jodi Glaser, Kimberly Hynes and Larry Larson
The board:
• Is waiting for the county commissioners to appoint someone to fill the opening on the board previously held by Mary Cunningham.
• Hired Sarah Kennedy, Rachel Norton and Gary Lockwood as service and support administrators effective March 2 to fill vacancies.
• Promoted Carissa Hudak to the waiver coordinator position March 9 to fill a vacancy.
• Approved the 2026-27 school calendar, with the first day for students Aug. 31 and the last day May 28, 2027.
• Announced there will be no board meeting in May as the board members will attend a training session.
