Mahoning, Trumbull sheriff’s departments receive state grants
The sheriff’s departments in Mahoning and Trumbull counties were awarded state grants to combat illegal drug activity and promote substance use prevention and recovery.
Mahoning is receiving $104,590 and Trumbull is getting $89,6267 from the RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund and the Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund. A total of $5 million was awarded statewide Thursday.
Gov. Mike DeWine said: “The work of law enforcement has played a large role in the fact that unintentional drug overdoses in Ohio have decreased for three years in a row. We are proud to support local efforts to hold drug traffickers accountable and support recovery from substance use disorder.”
