Five people sentenced in various Trumbull cases
WARREN — Five people were sentenced last week in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for their roles in various crimes.
• Alivia Spitzer, 19, of Laird Avenue SE, Warren, received three years’ probation after pleading guilty to a third-degree robbery charge involving the July 14, 2025, robbery at the Vapor Kings outlet on Elm Road NE in Warren. Prosecutors said Spitzer was one of three co-defendants in the case.
Police identified the armed suspect as a juvenile and Spitzer and co-defendant Kelly Sexton were identified as the ones who drove the robber to and from the store. The suspect wore a black hooded sweatshirt and black ski mask, and demanded items from the cashier at gunpoint, according to a police report. Two jars of hemp flowers and a carton of cigars were stolen.
As part of her probation, Spitzer must write an apology letter to the victims in the case as well as abide by a curfew, according to the Trumbull County Prosecutor’s Office. Court records show that Sexton is expected to be sentenced Wednesday.
• Brazon L. Crump, 21, of North Road, Niles, received an indefinite prison sentence from three- to four-and-a-half years after pleading guilty Jan. 21 to a first-degree felony of aggravated burglary. The case involved an Aug. 17, 2025, incident in the 4100 block of Monticello Boulevard in Liberty, where a man with a knife was apprehended by police after the break-in.
* Michael K. Lawler, 37, who is housed in Pickaway Correctional Institution, was sentenced to 21 months in prison after he was found guilty of two counts of third-degree OVI felonies that include repeat offender specifications. Lawler has been convicted of OVI eight times, with his latest offense happening Oct. 13, 2023, in Trumbull County. He also was assessed a total of $1,350 in fines plus a $5,500 assessment to replace a vehicle forfeiture.
His driver’s license will be suspended for three years after he is released from prison. Lawler is serving an 18-month prison term for various drug convictions in Summit, Columbiana and Cuyahoga counties, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction website.
• Johnattan S. Martinez, 41, North Garland Avenue, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and fifth-degree theft felonies and was sentenced to a two-year prison sentence. The case involved a Sept. 2, 2025, break-in at a home in the 3400 block of Fifth Avenue in Liberty. Martinez also was convicted of stealing more than $1,000 worth of tools from a motor vehicle at the residence, according to the prosecutor’s office.
• Timothy Turner, 48, Burnett East Road SW, Warren, was given an indefinite three to four-and-a-half-year prison sentence and declared a Tier 2 sex offender after he was convicted Jan. 29, on one count of illegal use of minor in nudity-oriented material/performance and four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor, all second-degree felonies. The case involved Turner downloading and exchanging child pornography online during the summer of 2024. As a Tier 2 offender, Turner will have to register with the sheriff’s office after his release four times per year for 25 years.
