WHAT: Board of education meeting Feb. 18
PRESENT: Nick Gallo, Donna Shields, Kristina Merola, Jessica Krumpak and Michael Morris
The board:
l Accepted a proposal from Imperial Glazing Concepts for $45,940 for the installation of a vestibule in the board of education office. The school district received a $40,000 grant from the Ohio Attorney General’s office for the project. The vestibule will create a space where people need to be to be buzzed into the board office room.
l Approved the 2026-27 school calendar, with the first day for students Aug. 20 and last day May 28, 2027.
l Approved the Washington, D.C. field trip April 26 to 28 for the eighth-grade class and the Niagara Falls field trip May 1 for sixth graders.

WHAT: Village council meeting Wednesday
PRESENT: Sean Schmidt, Brian Bosheff, John Metzinger, Kerry Reckard, Don Smith, Joe Sanson and Mayor Ray Lewis
Council:
• Accepted a $4,322 Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council grant, which has been received by the village for a couple of years and used for electrical related needs and projects.
• Approved extending a contract for two years with Ohio Valley Waste for trash collection in the community.
• Approved an Easter egg hunt with local Girl Scouts for 1 p.m. March 29 at Woodland Park.
