WHAT: Commissioners regular meeting Wednesday
PRESENT: Tony Bernard, Rick Hernandez and Denny Malloy
The commissioners:
• Approved paying a retainer fee of $8,000 to MAS Financial Advisory Services LLC to serve as a fiscal consultant for Trumbull County now through Feb. 4, 2027.
• Approved the purchase of a surplus 2016 Ford Explorer K-9 cruiser from the Warren Police Department for $2,000 to be paid from the county’s Justice Fund. In addition to the purchase of the vehicle, the county will pay $1,785 to remove old markings from the vehicle and $385 to install a mobile radio and repeater.
• Announced the 2026 Trumbull County Engineer annual meeting at 6 p.m. April 8 at DiLucia’s Banquet & Catering Center. Engineer David DeChristofaro, or someone from his office, will instruct local officials the best and most economical methods for repairing and maintaining roads and bridges, so as to provide a uniform system of highway work for the county.
• Announced the advertisement for sealed bids for the purchase of asphalt concrete and asphalt emulsion for use by the Trumbull County engineer for April 1 through March 31, 2027.
• Authorized the advertisement of sealed bids for the purchase of bituminous materials for use by the Trumbull County engineer for April 1 through March 31, 2027.
• Approved the purchase and installation of a stove / oven for the Juvenile Justice Center from Zabel’s Restaurant Equipment & Supplies in Youngstown at a cost of $12,253.
• Approved the hiring of Michael Pisarcik to be a draftsperson with the Sanitary Engineer’s Department.
• Approved a $7,400 contract modification agreement with Engineering Design Group LLC for the Elm Road Water Improvement Project in Bazetta. The additional work includes adding an orthophosphate feed system to a planned booster pump station.
• Because of the President’s Day holiday, the commissioner’s next public workshop will take place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Its next regular meeting will take place at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, both on the fifth floor of the county administration building.
