WHAT: Board of education meetings Jan. 14 and Feb. 11
PRESENT: Cheryl Kistler, Niki Reid, William Catlin, Rebekah Conn and Michelle Wells
The board:
● Named Kistler as board president and Reid as vice president.
● Named Catlin as representative to the Trumbull Career/ Technical Center and Kistler to the public records committee.
● Approved the 2026-27 school calendar with the first day for students Sept. 8 and the last day June 4, 2027. Graduation was set for May 30, 2027.
● Hired Michael Gordon as high school math teacher on a one-year contract. He will replace teacher Randy Fee, who is leaving the district at the end of the school year.
● Approved Lauren DeJulio as the EMIS coordinator at $10,000.
● Approved an agreement with Stark State College, Kent State University and Youngstown State University for College Credit Plus courses at the high school.
● Set rate for home instruction from $20 to $30 per hour.
● Set meetings for 4:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month in the board office room with the exception of July 15.
