Delivery driver robbed, forced into basement
YOUNGSTOWN — A food delivery person was kidnapped at gunpoint and robbed of her car when she went to an apparently vacant house on West Delason Avenue on the South Side of the city on Sunday night.
The woman said she was delivering a Door Dash order at 10:25 p.m. when a man answered the door wearing all black and a black mask.
She described the man as 5-foot-8 and skinny.
The male said he would be right back, and a male appeared from each side of the house with guns and held them to the driver’s back.
The male from the front door then came out again, this time holding a rifle, according to a police report.
The males then forced the woman into the basement at gunpoint. They told the woman to stay in the basement for 10 minutes.
They then ran upstairs and took the delivery person’s black 2008 Kia Spectra and drove off.
The woman soon after left the basement and called 911.
The report states that the house is vacant and the doors were unlocked.
