Rusu appointed to serve on Ohio Judicial College

YOUNGSTOWN — Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon Kennedy has appointed Mahoning County Probate Judge Robert N. Rusu Jr. to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Ohio Judicial College for a three-year term starting Jan. 1.

The Judicial College provides continuing legal and professional education for judges, magistrates, acting judges and non-judicial court personnel to ensure the effective administration of justice for all Ohioans, according to a Mahoning County Probate Court news release.

The Judicial College also offers educational opportunities for guardians ad litem and guardians of adults. Working in partnership with state judicial associations, the Judicial College also provides continuing legal education for its members.

The Ohio Judicial College Board of Trustees consists of 10 members. Seven judges are appointed by various judicial associations. One magistrate is appointed by the Ohio Association of Magistrates, and two judges are appointed by the chief justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.
