WHAT: Board of Education Dec. 17 meeting
PRESENT: Fred Marcum, Kathy Mock, Harold Porter, Don Sherwood and Kim Shrek.
The board:
● Congratulated retiring board member Kathy Mock, who served for 16 years.
● Accepted the following donations: $933 from Boys Basketball Boosters for HUDL; $100 from the Fitch Falcon Hall of Fame committee to Fitch Band; $100 from American Legion Post 177 to Fitch Concert Choir; and $100 from Fred and Jaclyn Schrock to Fitch Concert Choir.
● Accepted the following resignations: Brandi Baird, athletic department sweeper cleaner; Clara Donchatz, food service at Fitch; Jeniffer Hernandez, termination of employment from a food service position within the probationary period; and Tina Kubacki, AEA teacher at Fitch, retirement.
● Approved the following OAPSE appointments: Heather Conley, food service; Brionna Collins, medical assistant; and Thomas Humphreys, mechanic.
● Approved the following transfers: Robin Guzzo, reassigned from Fitch kitchen manager to district food service flex position; Mathew Galchick, reassigned from special education paraprofessional at the middle school to the elementary school; Susan Parish, transferred from food service position to food service kitchen manager at Fitch; Anthony Vaccaro, transferred from sweeper cleaner position at Fitch to the Athletic Department; and Tammy Ruscitti, transferred from special education paraprofessional at the elementary school to the middle school.
● Made the following appointments: Jason Senedak, girls basketball varsity assistant coach; Terrance Patterson, boys and girls head swim coach; Joseph Janis, girls assistant wrestling coach; and Christopher White, bus washer.
● Named the following volunteer coaches: Mathew Galchick, wrestling; Gregory Tibolla, wrestling; and Cara Hahn, wheelchair basketball.
● Approved an agreement with Profant, Inc., DBA Business Network Team, for the installation of additional cameras at Fitch High School.
● Approved an agreement with Titan Trucks Manufacturing LLC for the production of a custom food truck and other equipment.
● Approved modification of the compensation terms in the existing FY26 Austintown Local School District and MVRCOG contract. There will be a $700 increase from the original fee of $9,260.
● Approved the 2026-27 Austintown Local School District calendar.
● Approved the early graduation of Charles Pike and Kameron Villers from Austintown Fitch High School Class of 2026, pending the completion of all requirements.
● Approved the creation of a new student club, the Austintown Baking Club.
