Ohio Turnpike tolls going up

The Ohio Turnpike’s toll rates will increase by 2.7% on Jan. 1, the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission has announced.

The toll rate for E-ZPass customers with passenger vehicles will increase to 7.3 cents per mile in 2026 from 7.1 cents per mile in 2025; the cash / credit card toll rate will increase to 10.6 cents per mile in 2026 from 10.4 cents per mile in 2025.

The toll rate for E-ZPass customers with commercial vehicles will increase to 22.6 cents per mile from 22 cents per mile in 2025; the cash / credit card toll rate will increase to 28.4 cents from 27.6 cents per mile.

In 2026, the full trip toll fare for traveling west across the 241-mile Ohio Turnpike (from Pennsylvania to Indiana) for:

● E-ZPass customers with passenger vehicles will cost $19, a 50-cent increase from 2025; cash / credit card customers will pay $27.75, up 75 cents.

● E-ZPass customers with commercial vehicles will pay $58.75, up $1.25; cash / credit card customers will pay $74, up $1.75.

In 2026, the full-trip toll for traveling east across the Ohio Turnpike (from Indiana to Pennsylvania) for:

● E-ZPass customers with passenger vehicles will cost $16, a 50-cent increase from 2025; cash / credit card customers will pay $23.50, also up 50 cents.

● E-ZPass customers with commercial vehicles will pay $49.75, up $1.25; cash / credit card customers will pay $62.75, up $1.75.

All customers traveling west through Eastgate Toll Plaza (near the Ohio-Pennsylvania border) will pay a round-trip, flat-rate toll. All customers traveling east through Eastgate Toll Plaza do not pay a toll.

The commission said Ohio Turnpike toll rates rank among the lowest in the country. E-ZPass passenger vehicle customers will save an average of 33% on Ohio Turnpike tolls compared to customers who pay by cash or credit card.

The toll rate adjustment was authorized by the commission to meet operating, debt service and capital improvement costs.

The commission relies primarily on toll revenue — no tax dollars — to operate and maintain the turnpike’s infrastructure, which includes the road, bridges and other

projects.

Starting at $3.23/week.
