Youngstown library branch to close Dec. 1 for a week
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN — The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County will temporarily close the Michael Kusalaba Branch on the city’s West Side Dec. 1 to 8.
The closure will allow staff and contractors to complete a major floor plan redesign. It is the next phase in turning the branch into the area’s first certified Family Place Library, which focuses on early childhood development, parent support and whole-family learning.
During the closure, staff will work inside the building to reorganize collections, relocate service points, open sightlines, and create clearly defined areas for young children, parents, teens and adults.
