CANFIELD — A section of the Mill Creek MetroParks Bikeway in Canfield will be closed todayNOV6 as Material Sciences Corporation installs two additional groundwater monitoring wells to sample soil and groundwater in the area.

The bikeway will be closed off to the west of Canfield High School’s Bob Dove Field to the north and near West Main Street to the south, MSC stated in a press release.

In addition, trails connecting Canfield High School and the Preserve to the bikeway will be inaccessible. Closure is expected to begin approximately 8:30 a.m. and extend into the late afternoon.

One of the new groundwater monitoring wells is being installed along the edge of a pathway that leads from the Canfield High School parking lot to the Bikeway. The other monitoring well is being installed along the edge of the Bikeway close to the back of the MSC factory at 460 W. Main Street and close a factory next to MSC called CC Metal Design at 450 W. Main Street.
