WHAT: Board of education meeting Thursday

The board:
● Approved Campbell City School District’s intent to waive career-technical education to students enrolled in grades 7 and 8 for the 2025-26 school year.
● Approved the following transfers from the general fund to the bond retirement funds — Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center project, $600,000; HB 264 project, $48,900; Certificates of participation school improvement project, $172,940; COP annual trustee fee, $900.
● Accepted a $5,000 Ohio Stem Learning Network STEM classroom grant from the Battelle Foundation.
● Accepted the following donations: $837.15 from the Campbell Elementary School PTO to the middle school principal fund; $350 from A1 Industrial Painting to the Class of 2028; Veterans Day signs valued at $264.75 from Card My Yard; and $200 from Tra’s Concessions LLC to Campbell athletics.
● Approved the following purchases: emergency service repairs from Gardiner for the replacement of 10 failed variable air volume controllers and space temperature sensors at Campbell Memorial High School at a cost of $17,000; emergency service repairs from Gardiner for the replacement of 10 failed variable air volume controllers and space temperature sensors at the Elementary and Middle School Building at $16,000; Transportation of the Ski Club from Campbell Bus Lines for nine trips to Peek’n Peak Resort at $1,525 per trip; a master services agreement between Campbell Memorial High School and Youngstown State University’s Division of Workforce Education and Innovation to enroll two students in YSU’s IT support pre-apprenticeship program at $1,550 per student. Upon the student’s completion of the program, the district will be reimbursed under the Innovative Workforce Incentive Program (IWIP).
● Approved the following service agreements: ACCESS for application services at $25,149; ACCESS for voice over internet protocol services at $16,509.40; TK Elevator Corporation for the maintenance of the elevator at the high school at $5,215.66; Gardiner for PureResults Water Treatment Program for the chillers and boilers at Memorial High School and the elementary and middle school at $2,784; Management Council-Ohio Education Computer Network (MCOECN) for limited information processing services where MCOECN will provide HR Kiosk application and related data hosting services.
● Approved an unpaid leave of absence for Shayla Austalosh, intervention specialist.
●Approved the following appointments: Delores Shaffer, substitute after-school teacher at $26 per hour; ShaMera Benton, student monitor at the elementary and middle school at $13.51 per hour; Rachael Dinard for TBT and Literacy Coach responsibilities beyond the regular school day at $17 per hour; Club leader John Ryan for girls flag football at $15 per hour; Bernice Cruz as chaperone for her child on a school van to and from home instruction and in the classroom at Memorial High School; and Nicholas Micco to athletic worker.
● Approved the following as student workers at $10 per hour: Justin Martinez, Noah Sferra, Cayden Thomas, Carl Sarigianopulos and Jeysselle Diaz Moliere.
● Approved the following supplemental positions: Priscilla Garcia, varsity cheer adviser at $1,524.53; Fotini Koullias, varsity cheer adviser at $1,524.53; Ariel Dimas Falero, intramural soccer coach for grades 4 to 6 at $813.08; and Dallan Patterson, intramural soccer coach for grades 4 to 6 at $813.08.
●Hired classified substitute Kayla Rodriguez as a substitute cook’s helper.
