WHAT: Board of education meeting Oct. 23

The board:

● Approved the following donations: $1,094 from girls soccer boosters to girls soccer for the purchase of team socks /shorts; $100 from Nicholas and Mary Kay Kollat to the Fitch Class of 1970 Scholarship Fund; $900 from Ronald and Kathryn Gerberry to the Fitch Class of 1970 Scholarship Fund; $500 from Austintown Community Events to the Fitch Junior ROTC Program; $1,222.50 from Fitch Boys Soccer Boosters to Boys Soccer for socks / shorts.

● Approved transferring $182,120.60 from the general fund to the bus acquisition debt service fund.

● Approved the following resignations: Albert Buttry, food service kitchen manager at Austintown Middle School; Mathew Cramer, bus driver; Anthony James, head boys soccer coach; Carrie Whitehouse, bus aide; Tiffany Rutushin, food service at the high school.

● Approved the following retirement resignations: Debra Infante, special education paraprofessional; MaryAnn Miller, special education paraprofessional; Gina Moorhead, special education paraprofessional; Timothy Ritter, teacher; and Debra Shelley, teacher.

● Approved the following OAPSE appointments: Kaitlin Stanec, paraprofessional at $15.13 an hour; Lillie Marshall, nus aide at $15.13 an hour; Michaela Samuels, bus aide, at $15.13 an hour; and Anthony Vaccaro, sweeper assigned to Fitch at $5.75 an hour.

● Approved Hannah Loeb for a non-bargaining unit personnel Title I grant funded position at $16.50 per hour.

● Approved the following academic supplemental stipends: Brooke May, speech and debate adviser, $1,425; Faith Marscio, speech and debate adviser, $1,425; and Sarah Potkanowicz, speech and debate adviser, $1,425.

● Approved the following athletic supplementals: Luke Kelty, boys basketball assistant varsity, $5,649.15; Matthew Kidd, head boys tennis, $3,766; Steven Ward, basketball boys grade 7, $3,766; Allexis Sallee, basketball freshmen girls, $3,521.32; George Sunderland, boys bowling, $2,811.08; James Goske, girls bowling, $2,811.08; Greta Barninger, swimming assistant, $1,600.60; Tex Martin, wrestling assistant, $2,560.96; James Sutton, wrestling assistant, $2,560.60; Kyle Varga, wrestling assistant, $2,560.60; Matt Bostian, wrestling assistant, $2,560.96; Bryan Sahli, basketball boys, $3,201; Scott Lipinsky, basketball boys grade 8, $3,201; Allister Green, basketball boys grade 7, $3,201; ShayLynn Wall, cheerleading grade 8, $2,400.90; Eric Diefenderfer, wrestling head coach, $2,560.96; and Kevin Zalac, wrestling assistant, $2,560.96.

Campbell

WHAT: Board of education special meeting Thursday

PRESENT: Tony Kelly, Gary Bednarik, Judy Gozur, Tina Tsagaris and Beth Donofrio

The board:

● Approved an agreement between Campbell City Schools and Alta Head Start appointing Campbell City Schools as the manager of the USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program for Alta Head Start-Campbell for the 2025-26 school year.

● Approved an agreement between Campbell City Schools and R.E.M. Consulting & Associates to provide for local evaluation services and additional assistance to Campbell City Schools’ 21st Century Community Learning Center grant for the period through June 30.

● Approved the appointment of Braden Mancini to long-term substitute teacher, $150 per day;

* Approved Amaris Rodriguez to educational assistant at $13.86 per hour.

● Approved Debra Lapaze to cook’s helper at $13.54 per hour.

* Approved Cynthia Turner to cook’s helper at $13.54 per hour.

● Hired Cody Stoll as a science teacher at the Northeast Ohio Impact Academy, at a salary of $50,411.
