WHAT: Board of Education meeting Monday.
PRESENT: Anna Martin, William Cummings, Josh Barr, Donald Newell and Amanda O’Neill.
The board:
• Accepted the following donations: $1,000 from the Boys Soccer Boosters for Hudl; $750 each from Lark Land Co. / Mary Ann Lark, Memory Lane and Brokers Realty Group for student football tickets; $538.45 from Hubbard McDonald’s and $550 from Oz Ventures (Kona Ice) to the Middle School Principal Fund; $517 from Greenwood’s Hubbard Chevrolet to the Food Service Department and $400 from Greenwood’s Hubbard Chevrolet for the SSO’s 2014 Chevrolet Impala; $100 from the Hubbard Farmer’s Market to the Middle School Principal Fund; $130 from Raising Cane’s to the Hubbard Choir; $100 from Riddell to Athletics for helmet painting; $200 from Carol Goan, $65 from Ruth Fletcher and $50 from Thelma and Anthony Romain to the Hubbard Community Pool; and $200 each from Eagle Wear, Wholesale Fireworks and Braydich Dental, and $100 each from Ciavarella’s Pressure Washing and Parto’s Golf Learning Center to the Career & Community Class.
• Accepted the resignation of Cindy Hillier as a teacher, for retirement, effective Oct. 1, 2026.
• Accepted the resignation of George Lanterman as a teacher, for retirement, effective June 1, 2026.
• Accepted the resignation of Kaitlyn Wallace as a bus driver, Oct. 20, 2025.
• Approved a requested leave of absence for Patricia Hedwall, bus aide, effective Aug. 26, 2025.

Liberty
WHAT: Board of education meeting Monday
PRESENT: Janine Hamilton, Hans Kirr and David Malone
The board:
• Approved revoking a conditional employment offer to Christina Kratchner as a bus driver, effective Oct. 1.
• Accepted the resignation of Carolyn Barry as a sixth-grade teacher, for retirement, effective June 1, 2026. Barry’s last day is May 29, 2026, after 33 years of service to the district.
• Accepted the resignation of Amy Cuffle as an intervention assistant for personal reasons, effective Oct. 13, 2025.
• Accepted the resignation of Krista Gettan from the position of intervention assistant (7 hours), for personal reasons, effective May 29, 2026.
• Accepted a donation totaling $7,290 from Donors Choose for the purchase of tables, art supplies, flexible seating, instructional materials and a colored printer to Liberty Local Schools classrooms.
• Accepted a $3,000 donation from the Girard-Liberty Rotary to the Liberty School Pantry.
• Accepted a $1,050 donation from the Liberty Athletic & Academic Boosters, $750.00 of which is for the Liberty Robotics Club, and the remaining $300.00 is for the Liberty High School Drama Club.
• Accepted a $1,000 donation from the Ellwood Engineered Castings Company for the Liberty Robotics Club.
• Accepted a $250 donation from Patrick Callihan for the Liberty Robotics Club.
