WHAT: Board of education meeting Tuesday

The board:
• Recognized students who participate in the Boardman Student Television Network (BSTN). The program, which helps develop their skills in live broadcasting, began in 1992 and has become award winning as well as a staple program in the district. Students are exposed to professional and university level equipment and opportunities. They have passed the 20,000 views mark on their YouTube Channel, which posts filmed interviews, high school sports coverage and other events at Boardman schools.
• Recognized four school bus drivers for their participation in the regional and state school bus safety road-e-o competition. The event is designed to test and increase each driver’s operational and driving skills, while adding a fun competitive spin in the name of safety.
• Appointed Tammy Cracraft as a teacher aide-intensive needs at Robinwood Lane Elementary School at a salary of $23,652.
• Appointed Amy Cuffle as a teacher aide at West Boulevard Elementary School at a salary of $21,871.
• Appointed Juliana Silva de Paula as a cafeteria server at Robinwood Lane Elementary School at a salary of $6,680.
• Appointed Hannah Lawrence as a Title I tutor at $22 per hour.
• Hired Dale Duncan, math, and Madeline Krasnasky, English and language arts, as West Boulevard Elementary home instruction tutors at $20 per hour.
• Approved the resignations of Ian Head, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School 7th-grade science teacher; Laddie “David” Fedor, Boardman Glenwood Junior High School cafeteria server; Laurie Kohuth, transportation, mid-day preschool route; and Carrie Stipanovich, Robinwood Lane Elementary School cafeteria server.
• Approved contract terminations for teacher Kimberly Vodhanel, bus driver Christopher DeFrank and district store room manager Robert Gresko.
• Approved the transfer of Heather Hogan from an intensive needs teacher’s aide Robinwood Lane Elementary to a teacher’s aide at Robinwood at a salary of $21,871.
• Approved the transfer of Taysia Johnson from 3.5-hour cafeteria server at Boardman High School to a 5.5-hour cafeteria server at the high school at a salary of $8,184.
• Approved the transfer of Karen Varie from a 3.5-hours cafeteria server at Boardman Center Intermediate School to Cleaning I at the intermediate school at a salary of $10,027.
• Approved the transfer of Curtis Wagner from noontime monitor at West Boulevard Elementary School to a 3.5-hour cafeteria server at Boardman High School at a salary of $6,680.
• Approved the following stipends for the drama fall musical production staff to be paid out of the Drama Activity account: William Amendol, pit conductor, $1,700; Cheryl Dutko, ticket sales, $240; Crosbee Lisser, pit musician, $400.
• Approved the financial report for September as submitted by the treasurer.
• Approved the following invoices for payment: MG Electric, $3,555 for outlets for new kitchen Equipment; and R&J Truck & Auto Body PO,$5,000 for Bus No. 17 repairs.
