Youngstown firefighter pleads guilty to reduced charges in Warren court
WARREN — Youngstown firefighter Adaris Bellamy, 44, of Howland, pleaded guilty Tuesday to reduced charges of menacing in Warren Municipal Court before Judge Patricia Knepp, following an incident at the Warren Township Fire Department.
Bellamy was sentenced to 30 days in jail with 28 days suspended and two days credited, one year of probation with a no-contact order with the victim, and forfeiture of two confiscated firearms.
Bellamy, initially charged with aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor, was accused of pointing a rifle at William Kohn, a 41-year-old Warren Township Fire Department employee, at the department’s West Market Street station on April 7, 2025, according to a police report.
The charge was reduced to menacing, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, through a plea agreement after evidence review by prosecutors and Bellamy’s attorney, Desirae DiPiero.
Court records detail Bellamy’s arrest by Warren Township police on April 7, 2025, and his arraignment the following day before Judge Natasha K. Natale, where he pleaded not guilty and was released on a $15,000 bond.
Conditions included a no-contact order with the fire department, except for cases of emergencies, and surrendering all firearms to the township police.
