TCBDD approves new three-year contract with employees
Staff report
NILES — The Trumbull County Board of Developmental Disabilities has approved a new three-year agreement with employees represented by AFSCME 1992 and Ohio Council 8.
Superintendent Edward Stark said the unions represent 127 employees, which includes classified workers such as bus drivers, bus aides, custodial, cooks, early intervention teachers and classroom aides.
He said as part of the agreement, the classified staff will receive a 4% pay increase each year of the agreement, and teachers and therapists will receive a 1% pay increase each year and step advancement on the pay scale. Stark said the new agreement and pay increases will cost the district $1,080,000 over three years from 2025 to 2028.
He said work also is being finalized on remodeling offices and rooms at the Tomaski Center off North Road, with an open house planned for mid-to-late September.
