Statewide outage affects Mahoning County title offices
Staff report
YOUNGSTOWN — The Mahoning County Clerk of Courts title department is being affected by a statewide outage affecting the ATPS and BASS systems. These systems are essential for processing motor vehicle titles and are down across all county title departments and Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicle locations.
The Mahoning County title department offices remain open, but services are limited until the state resolves the outage, according to a news release from Mahoning County Clerk of Courts Michael Ciccone. The state has not provided an estimated timeframe for restoration.
“We want to make sure residents are aware of this statewide issue before traveling to our offices,” said Jennifer Ciccone, chief deputy of Mahoning County Clerk of Courts and acting title director. “We encourage the public to call ahead to confirm whether the systems are operational or if we are able to process their paperwork before making the trip.”
For the most updated information, residents are asked to call the title department at 330-740-2111 before visiting either location. The Clerk of Courts office will provide updates as soon as information becomes available.
