Hubbard Board of Education makes administrative moves
HUBBARD — With school kicking off in two weeks, the Hubbard Board of Education made some moves to shore up administrative positions.
At Wednesday’s special meeting, the board approved the resignation of Athletic Director Kevin Hogue, who spent six years with the district. He was tapped as Bloomfield-Mespo’s new high school principal on a two-year contract last week, replacing Jim Henson, who left for a principal position with Cardinal Local Schools in Middlefield.
The district made an internal move to replace Hogue, moving longtime administrator and Hubbard Middle School principal Brian Hoffman into the athletic director position — a month after the board approved three-year contracts for him, Hubbard Elementary Principal Shawn Marcello and Hubbard High School Principal Brandilyn Yobe.
Hoffman, whose move took effect Wednesday, will remain as the football program’s head coach, according to a post by the high school’s athletics page, which details the moves and thanks Hogue for his service to the district.
“Brian brings a wealth of knowledge as an educator and community member and will do a fantastic job keeping our athletic department moving in the right direction,” the post said.
Replacing Hoffman as principal of Hubbard Middle School is David Reel, whose resignation from the K-8 assistant principal position was accepted. He was immediately approved for the position on a three-year contract effective Aug. 1, 2025, to July 31, 2028.
The board made some shifts at the transportation position, approving Mona Jones’s resignation as transportation supervisor effective Aug. 11, and approving her for a one-year limited contract as a paraprofessional.
Jones will be replaced by Susan Lingenfelter, whose resignation as a bus driver was accepted to approve her for a two-year contract as transportation supervisor, effective Aug. 11, 2025, through June 30, 2027.
