Girard man sentenced to 5 to 7.5 years for child endangerment

WARREN — A Girard man was sentenced Wednesday to an indefinite prison term of five to seven-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to choking a 12-year-old boy until he lost consciousness.

Marquis M. Lee, 39, entered his guilty plea on June 13 in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on a felony charge of endangering children and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

The charges stemmed from a Dec. 20, 2024, incident at a Girard residence, according to court records. The boy was unconscious for approximately five minutes before being transported to St. Joseph Warren Hospital for treatment, prosecutors said.
