Thrive 10:10 taking signups for four programs

GIRARD — Thrive 10:10 is now accepting signups for four programs designed to equip individuals, families and organizations with tools to thrive, no matter their background or current circumstances.

• Getting Ahead in a Just-Gettin’-By World helps participants investigate the causes of poverty, build personal and community resources and create their own plan to get ahead — not just survive. It’s not a class about poverty; it’s a hands-on experience that builds leadership, hope and lasting change. Meals and incentives are included. Classes will be noon to 3 p.m. Thursdays beginning Aug. 21. Pre-registration and application is required.

• Mental Health First Aid equips people to recognize, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. Whether you’re a parent, educator, community member, or employer, MHFA gives you the tools to help someone in need.

• Bridges Out of Poverty is a workshop that helps community leaders, educators, businesses and service providers better understand the challenges faced by people in poverty — and how to build bridges toward mutual success. One-hour overviews are available as well as three-hour and six-hour workshops.

• WISE (Wellness Initiative for Senior Education) is designed to support individuals 55 and up. This program teaches individuals how to make the best of their mature years by understanding wellness tactics.

Facilitators include retired teachers, leaders and nurses.
