WHAT: Board of education meeting June 27

PRESENT: Sam Caputo, Mark Bodo, Cheryl Basista and Tim Gleason

The board:

● Is reviewing what to do with a building and property at the southwest corner by the football stadium and south of Mineral Ridge High School. Officials have indicated possibly locating board offices there and are also looking at a leasing policy.

Earlier this year the board purchased 2.5 acres of land for $525,000 from P&S Equities. The site includes a 10,000-square-foot building.

● Hired Andrew Hake as a high school social studies teacher on a one-year contract. He is also the head football coach. Hake is a graduate of Weathersfield schools.
