Liberty, Poland get sidewalk grants from state

Liberty is getting a $1,050,000 state grant to improve sidewalks while Poland Township is receiving $935,000 for the same effort.
The work in Liberty is filling sidewalk gaps along state Route 193, Belmont Avenue.
The Poland project is filling sidewalk gaps along state Route 170.
Both projects are scheduled for 2028.
The funding awards were announced Thursday as part of Ohio’s Highway Safety Improvement Program.
Overall, $137.5 million was awarded Thursday for 55 traffic projects.
Of those, 22, including Liberty and Poland, were to improve pedestrian safety through the construction or improvement of sidewalks.
