YOUNGSTOWN — A partnership between Ashlea Duck, founder of Build Your Own Breakfast, and Penguin City Brewing Co. has resulted in a six-week Carnival Brunch Series for Kids that kicked off Sunday at the brewery on East Federal Street.
Every Sunday through Aug. 31, families can enjoy a whimsical carnival-themed brunch filled with:
● Games, prizes, food and fun for all ages.
● A Brunch Loyalty Card in which kids collect stamps each week to earn free kids meals, prizes and a chance to win a Birthday Brunch for 10 guests.
● The hunt for a Golden Ticket that results in one person each week receiving a free mimosa.
● Rotating carnival themes, special guests and surprises. The theme Sunday was Step Right Up. The Aug. 3 theme is Pop Back In. The theme on Aug. 10 is Sweet Rewards Coming.
● The Aug. 17 theme is Keep It Spinning. The Aug. 24 theme is a mystery and the final week’s theme on Aug. 31 is Carnival Status.
“Our goal is to bring the community together for something fun, delicious, and kid-friendly,” Duck said. “And with the support of Penguin City Brewing, we’ve got the perfect setting to make it happen.”
The event is free and open to the public, all ages are welcome, and dogs are welcome too. The Penguin City brunch menu will be available, and the bar will be open for the grown-ups.
“We absolutely love working with Ashlea on her creative brunch ideas. We’re always looking for ways to reach families and offer something fun and engaging. Collaborating with passionate, community-driven businesses like hers is what it’s all about,” said Aspasia Lyras, co-owner of Penguin City.
Sunday’s event featured popcorn, shaved ice, two bounce houses, face painting, a slime making station, hula hoops and clowns.
