YOUNGSTOWN -- Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Anthony Donofrio has ordered another competency evaluation for Rolando Guzman-Sosa, 28, of Youngstown, after his first evaluation found him not competent to stand trial and "not restorable."

Guzman-Sosa has been in the Mahoning County jail since May 9 after being indicted May 8 on 20 counts of pandering obscenities involving a minor or impaired person. The charges are low-level felonies, but he could get more than 20 years in prison if he were to be convicted on all counts.

A hearing was held Tuesday in the case, with Donofrio ruling that Guzman-Sosa is not competent to stand trial and "not restorable" to competency to stand trial. The ruling was made after the Forensic Psychiatric Center of Northeast Ohio in Austintown evaluated Guzman-Sosa and issued a report stating the diagnoses.

But prosecutors asked that a second evaluation be carried out, and the judge agreed to obtain a "second opinion." Another hearing will be held after the second evaluation is completed.

Guzman-Sosa's indictment alleges that he committed the offenses April 24, 2024. The charges allege that Guzman-Sosa bought, procured, possessed or controlled obscene material that has a minor as one of its participants.

The charges are fourth-degree felonies, each punishable by up to 18 months in prison if

convicted.
