The Cat’s Meow art show will have an opening reception 1 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Davis Family YMCA, 45 McClug Road, Boardman.

The exhibition features 117 works created by 54 participants at Purple Cat, a creative day program for adults with disabilities. Its primary focus is to teach daily living skills, foster independence and create a positive environment for participants to reach their personal goals.

This year’s show is dedicated in memory of Susan Johnson, a longtime participant, who passed away July 18. She loved to paint and create and looked forward to showing off her art at the yearly Purple Cat art show.
