Simply Slavic shines

YOUNGSTOWN — The Simply Slavic festival opened its two-day run at the Youngstown Foundation Amphitheatre on Friday.
The festival that celebrates Slavic culture has a full array of entertaining events Saturday.
Here is the schedule:
Noon — Nocne Sove (Croatian strolling musician)
12:15 p.m. — Parade of Flags and blessing of the food
1 p.m. — ZAPS (Ukrainian)
1:30 p.m. — Mikey Dee and George Batyi (Gypsy strolling musicians)
2 p.m. — Rex Taneri Orchestra (Slovenian)
3:15 p.m. — Living Traditions Folk Ensemble (Polish/Rusyn)
3:30 p.m. — Bob Buzecan of the Chardon Polka Band (polka strolling musician)
4:05 p.m. — St. Nicholas Russian Youth Dance Group (Russian)
5 p.m. — Selo Croatian Ensemble (Croatian)
6 p.m. — Harmonia (Gypsy)
8:30 p.m. — Chardon Polka Band
10:30 p.m. — Vatra lighting ceremony / jam session / dance celebration
