WHAT: Board of education special meeting Friday

PRESENT: Joseph Castor, Joseph Datchuk, Sue Ellen Harris Davis, Vincent Ragozine and Tammy King

The board:

• Heard from the Impact Group on the draft strategic plan for the school district. Superintendent Bryan O’Hara said the Impact Group has given presentations to the board and the school staff. O’Hara said the plan is being put together for future goals and objectives for the district in various areas for the next three to five years.

• Employed Deidre Schimpf as transportation director at $50,000 on a 220-day contract effective Aug. 1 to July 31, 2026. She will be in training July 1 to 31 at an hourly rate of $28.41.

• Named Nick Canterino as the new head basketball coach on a three-year supplemental contract.

• Hired Adam Kawecki as a high school business teacher, Barb Keeler and Kathy Ainsley as assistants to the treasurer on 260-day contracts, Lauren Brinker as EMIS coordinator on a 260-day contract, and Cierra Bello and Travis Hecker as technology assistants on 260-day contracts.

• Said the police department will be using the school buildings this summer for training for several departments.

• Hired Lisa Hall as a nurse for St. Rose School on a 178-day contract, and Gina Leeworthy as a clerk for the school on a 189-day contract.

• Accepted the resignation of teacher Amber Guerrieri effective Aug. 15. She has accepted a position in another district.
